Jomo Sono’s Advice To Tito
On Saturday, September 7, 2024, Jomo Sono, the owner and head coach of Jomo Cosmos, revealed that his team had secured a new sponsor, Lucas Batteries. This sponsorship deal is significant as Cosmos competes in the ABC Motsepe League.
Following the recent sponsorship announcement, the legendary Dr. Jomo Sono, has faced questions about the retired Orlando Pirates jersey number 10. This comes after Patrick ‘Tito’ Maswanganyi was spotted wearing it during their recent CAF Champions League match against Disciples FC at Orlando Stadium.
FARPost posted a video on X (Twitter) where Bra J cautioned the journalist against comparing him to anyone.. “The problem with us we think (that) the jersey number 10 is the one that is playing. It was me who was playing.” Sono responded to a journalist’s inquiry about whether he believes the jersey is burdensome for Tito. “I was just wearing the jersey.”
“Don’t insult (jersey) number 10. That jersey is special. I scored goals! I was not just a player. I was special. Not special for one week. I was consistent.” reiterated Jomo.

When asked if Tito has what it takes to wear the jersey, he said: “Who? Maswanganyi? I don’t know. I saw him doing this going to his goal posts (demonstrating that he was dribbling facing his own posts). He was doing like this on the ball going this direction and then I switched to English Football.”
Black Prince of South African Soccer pleaded with people not to compare him to anyone. “He (Tito) is okay but don’t compare (me with anyone) because you have compared me with a lot of them then they died. They are all dying after you compared them with (me). You can’t compare an elephant to an ant.” warned Jomo. “Don’t compare Maswanganyi with me.He’s a good number 10 for Pirates. Let him stay as a number 10 for Pirates but don’t compare (him with me).”
