Kaizer Chiefs Bolster Their Technical Team
Cedric Kaze has been named the new assistant coach by Amakhosi. The purpose of this calculated addition to coach Nasreddine Nabi’s technical staff is to raise the Club’s goals and performance this season.
Kaze, who was born in Burundi, is a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the setup. He and Nabi worked together at Young Africans, where they had great success, taking home six titles in two seasons. His familiarity with different coaching responsibilities and his tactical acumen make him an ideal match to enhance Nabi’s team vision.
He boasts an outstanding resume that includes a German Football Federation A license, a CAF A license, and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Science. In 2012, he was voted East and Central Africa’s coach of the year.
After serving as an assistant coach for the U17 squad in 2007, Cedric moved on to work with the national teams in Burundi. He later assisted with the senior team and coached the U20 and U23 teams before departing for Canada in 2015.
“Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career,” said Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. “His familiarity with coach Nabi’s methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch.”
The Amakhosi faithfuls should anticipate an interesting season as Cedric assembles a powerful squad with Nabi and the other members of the technical team, such as Khalil Ben Youssef, Ilyes Mzoughi, and Safi Majdi.
The changes made by the Chiefs this season saw them win two league games in a row and an unofficial cup (CUFA Cup). Although they lost three points against Mamelodi Sundowns on 28 September 2024, that match showed that they will have success in the 2024-25 season. This marks the best change the Chiefs management has done in over 10 years.
