Tsakane Stadium Hosts Celebrity Soccer Tournament

The much awaited celebrity soccer tournament, Jammin 2 Soccer, is returning and will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Tsakane Stadium. This year marks the tournament’s fourth anniversary. It was initiated in 2020 by two of the top South African musicians, Khuzani and Big Zulu, who represent the two distinct music styles of hip-hop and maskandi. From two teams to four teams, it has now expanded.

Similar to 2023, four teams led by well-known South African musicians will compete in this year’s tournament: DJ Tira, captain of Gqom FC, Big Zulu Hip-Hop FC, gospel sensation Dumi Mkokstad representing Gospel FC, and captain Khuzani Mpungose of Maskandi FC.

Gospel FC, captained by Dumi Mkokstad, the 2023 Jammin 2 Soccer player of the tournament, was victorious in the 2023 tournament.

The tournament this year will begin airing LIVE on SABC 1 at 10 a.m.
